OKARA: While the incidents of child kidnapping are on the rise in Punjab, Citizens in Dibalpur area on Monday foiled a bid to kidnap a child and kidnapper managed to escape from the scene leaving the child.
The child sustained injuries from the kidnapper’s knife attack who later managed to escape from the scene.
Police reached the incident site after getting information and have initiated search to arrest the suspects.
Dozens of child kidnapping incidents have surfaced in Punjab in the recent past and police claim that most of the children run away from their homes due to violence or other clashes and fail to return.
On the other hand, police has arrested three Afghan suspects while checking a vehicle near Dibalpur bypass.
The suspects were shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.
