KARACHI: A Chinese diplomat on Wednesday advised the Sindh government to extend the closure of schools and other educational institutions and ban large public gatherings amid coronavirus outbreak.
Chinese Consul General in Karachi Li Bijian in a message posted on Twitter said:” “The local Government of Sindh shall be advised to take more strong preventive measures including calling off big gatherings and extension of the closing of the schools to save more lives.”

Meanwhile, as of Wednesday afternoon the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus have reached 20 in Pakistan.
A new case has been confirmed here today in Gilgit Baltistan, a government official says.
He added that a 14-year-old boy, a resident of Skardu, has become the latest victim of coronavirus.
