Chaudhry asserts Pakistan’s right of civil nuclear pact

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s foreign secretary Aizaz Chaudhry said on Tuesday that the acquisition of civil Nuclear technology is country’s right in the wake of prevailing energy crisis.

Speaking to media personnel in US capital, Aizaz maintained that Pakistan’s energy needs are more than the neighbouring India adding that the country too seeks co-opperation in department like India.

Chahudhry maintained that Pakistan’s power generation methods are at par with international standards and are secured by International Energy Agency (IEA).

Answering a question, Aizaz categorically rejected the notion of Pakistan’s nuclear assets’ probable landing into any ‘unsafe’ hand by saying that the assests are protected and no terrorist caneven dare to come near our nuclear arsenal.

However, Chaudhry made it clear that Pakistan is not going to sign NPT (Nuclear Proliferation Treaty) calling the treaty a ‘biased’ document.

It must be noted that Chaudhry is akistan will be holding meetings with top Obama administration officials in US.
