Chairman Senate censures Saira Tarar for mentioning Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani censured State Minister of Health Sciences Regulation and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar on Wednesday for taking former president Pervez Musharraf’s name in the Senate Meeting and said Musharraf was a dictator so why his name was used in examples of democracy.

During the meeting, Saira Afzal said she was not satisfied with the performance of Drug Dealer Regulatory Authority. Seven directors were taken from private sector in 13 months. There was hope of improvement in performance of Drug Dealer Regulatory Authority.

‘Pervez Musharraf says action had more importance than words,’ she said on which Rabbani criticised her and asked why she had taken a dictator’s name? He was dictator therefore his name could not be used in democratic examples. ‘I do not want to listen Musharraf’s name in the Senate anymore.’
