Council of Common Interests at its meeting in Islamabad today has decided with consensus to reschedule the census due to commitments of security forces and ongoing operations.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired the meeting which was also attended by the four provincial chief ministers.
It decided that new dates for the census will be given after consultation with the stakeholders.
Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reaffirmed the commitment to completely root out the menace of terrorism from the country. He said we respect the sacrifices being rendered by our security forces in the war on terror.
He said our armed forces are winning the war on terror and the day is not far when this menace will be uprooted from the country.
