SARAI ALAMGIR: As many as five people, including four women of a family were killed when a car plunge into canal near Sarai Alamgir in wee hours of Monday (today).
According to the details, the car fell into Upper Jhelum Canal near village Qasba amid a powerful thunderstorm killing all the five people.
The local residents had pulled the victims as well as the unfortunate vehicle out of the turbid water own their own. According to sources there were no survivors.
A police official said that they were trying to ascertain the names and addresses of the victims.
According to reports pouring in from Sarai Alamgir, the bodies were handed over to the families, who reached the site as the word spread.
The victims were going back to their native town in Azad Kashmir after attending the funeral of a relative here on Sunday.
