A huge explosion rocked capital Kabul earlier today with preliminary reports suggesting the blast has taken place in the vicinity of airport.
Ministry of Interior spokesman, Sediq Sediq, confirmed that the blast took place after a vehicle packed with explosives in the eastern part of Hamid Karzai airport.
There are also reports of sporadic gun fire in the area following the blast.
There are no reports regarding the type of the explosion and casualties as a result of the blast.
