ISLAMABAD: Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique Tuesday said the cancellation of plan to lock down Islamabad by Pakistan Tehrrek-i-Insaf (PTI) was a victory of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)’s principled stance.
It had proved that ‘decisions’ could not be imposed through protests or demonstrations as the Supreme Court had now taken up the Panama Papers issue, which gave a clear message that it would prepare terms of reference for inquiry commission if not agreed by political parties, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said PTI chief Imran Khan had wasted seven months of the nation in delaying investigation into the Panama Papers. Imran Khan should now leave ‘politics of agitation’, he added.
Saad Rafique said the PTI should get permission from the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad for holding a gathering at the Parade Ground.
He, however, warned that if PTI workers violated the law during their gathering then action would be taken against them.
