ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet has rejected the ECC’s proposal to import cotton and sugar from India.
The cabinet meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan here on Thursday. The issue of importing cotton and sugar from India has been discussed in the meeting.
The Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) had yesterday proposed to import cotton and sugar from India. The ECC had suggested importing these items from India at a lower price.
Opposing the import of cotton from India, the Cabinet said that the needs should be met from the resources available in the country.
