CAA: Fresh protests engulfed entire India as police arrest over 350 protesters

NEW DELHI: Indian police have arrested hundreds of people protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) across the country on Friday.

Over 350 people have been nabbed in Uttar Pradesh for holding protests against the CAA. In New Delhi, police have placed prohibitory orders in the limits of 12 police stations.

A massive demonstration was held outside the Jama Masjid.

Later, the protesters marching towards Jantar Mantar from the Jama Masjid were stopped near Delhi Gate in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in a message posted on Twitter said: “Entry & exit gates of Jaffrabad and Maujpur-Babarpur are closed. Trains will not be halting at these stations”.

In a security update, the DMRC also announced to close exit and entry gates of Jamia Millia station.
