By-election: Polling begins on PP-100 Kamoke

GUJRANWALA: Polling under way in by-election to Punjab Assembly constituency PP-100 Kamoke on Sunday.

There is a one-on-one contest between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Rana Akhtar and Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) candidate Ch Ehsan Ullah Virk.

The majority of polling staff comprises of the Education Department officials. A total 113 polling stations have been set up in the constituency of which 55 have been declared as sensitive.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has also banned holding any procession and setting up of any camp within 100 feet of polling stations while no one would be allowed to carry weapons and execute fireworks on polling day.

It is to be noted that PP-100 Kamoke fell vacant after the death of PML-N MPA Rana Shamshad Ahmed Khan who along with his son and a friend was shot dead.
