The Sindh government on Saturday presented the provincial budget for fiscal year 2016-17 with a total outlay of Rs869.1 billion against last year’s budget estimate of Rs739.3 billion.
As per details, the budget had been increased to 17.5 percent while target of Rs 422 billion had been set regarding tax recoveries.
Budget for aid of minorities being increased by 200% which is now stands at Rs30 million.
About Rs160.70 billion had been allocated for education sector while Rs5.4 billion allocated for repair and maintenance of Schools and Colleges. Rs70 billion had been suggested for home ministry and police.
Rs55 billion had been approved for the health sector while About Rs410 million allocated for repair and maintenance of hospitals.
Rs 42 billion allocated for municipalities while a special budget package with a value of Rs10 billion had been allocated for Karachi.
