London: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has canceled his scheduled visit to India on January 26 to attend the 72nd Republic Day.

According to British media, Boris Johnson has canceled his visit to Britain due to the coronavirus situation.

According to the spokesperson of the British Prime Minister’s House, Boris Johnson called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and apologized for attending the Republic Day celebrations.

The spokesperson added that in view of the intensification of the new coronavirus wave in the UK and the lockdown in the country the prime minister has decided to stay in the country so that he can keep an eye on the issues related to virus.
