KANO: Boko Haram militants have killed 42 people during attacks on two villages in Biu and Hawul districts of Nigeria.
Police official said on Wednesday that they received reports of attacks by suspected Boko Haram gunmen on the two villages in which 42 deaths were reported.
The police official said that around 30 militants of Boko Haram in a convoy of pick-up trucks and motorcycles stormed Debiro Hawul and Debiro Biu villages and killed at least 42 villagers.
The rebels shot dead the villagers after looting their homes and shops and setting fire to buildings, said Debiro Hawul resident Umaru Markus. He said that the militants slaughtered 22 villagers in the attacks.
