Boko Haram attack kills at least 10 in northeast Nigeria

ABUJA: At least 10 people lost their lives and various wounded following an intense attack carried out by Boko Haram militants in northeast part of Nigeria, foreign news agency reported on Saturday.

Nigerian Police said that Boko Haram militants attacked a village in Ngamdu in Maiduguri, the state capital of Borno, and took control on a major highway in the region.

According to the report, the militants gunned down various residents when they were fleeing towards a safer location in order to save their lives.

Nigerian military units moved into the region to fight the attack to take back control of the only safe highway to Maiduguri, report said.

Meanwhile, a bomb attack was failed at the city’s largest bus station in Maiduguri city when an an explosives-ladden tuk-tuk was stopped to enter the premises early Saturday, officials said.
