The engine of Shalimar Express train derailed after a blast tore through the rail track around midnight in Rahim Yar Khan.
The explosives blown off 3ft of track near Sadiqabad in Chandrami area. The train was bound for Karachi from Lahore.
The track was blown by unknown assailants using a remote control device and was targeted when the train was passing. The device has been recovered from the blast area.
The blast smashed the windowpanes of the engines. There are no other reports on damage so far.
