ATTOCK: As many as 14 people were dead while 16 others including Colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada injured in a suicide attack at Interior Minister Punjab’s political office in Attock.
According to reports, a jirga was underway at Khanzada’s political office in Shadi Khan village when a suicide attacker entered and detonated his explosives.
Shuja Khanzada’s secretary said that the provincial home minister was present in the office and also sustained injuries in the blast.
The building demolished following the blast with at least 30 people were trapped inside.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the blast and DPO Attock has reached the site.
Special rescue team and quick response team of the Pakistan army also reached the site.
On the other hand, it has been reported that Khanzada has been shifted to hospital with critical injuries.
DSP Shoukat Shah’s body recovered from the rubble.
