SUKKUR: Black boxes from the ill-fated trains, which met an accident near here early Monday morning have been recovered.
According to the railway sources, the black boxes from the Millat Express and Sir Syed Express had been recovered.
They said that the black boxes would help in detecting the cause of the fatal accident in which at least 40 passengers were killed and 64 injured.
Earlier, a 456 kilometres long rail track in Sukkur division was declared unsafe for trains’ movement.
This was written in a letter sent to the CEO Pakistan Railways by the Deputy Superintendent (DS) of Railways Sukkur last week.
It said that the 456-km track on the mainline and 532 kilometres on the branch line in the Sukkur division is in dilapidated condition.
