BISP inaugurates National Socio Economic survey in Lakki district

LAKKI MARWAT: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) launched a door-to-door survey for National Socio Economic Registry (NSER) under a pilot phase on Wednesday.

The programme’s chairperson Marvi Memon inaugurated the survey in which trained team of persons will go into all areas of the district which has been included in list of the 16 districts of the country where the survey was being conducted in first phase.

Addressing the participants of the training in which the participants were being enlightened about nature of work and making them conversant with methodology of the survey through laptop in order to conduct flawless survey by sorting out individual or family of ultra poor category.

Giving details, she said 60 questions would be asked from the targeted population during the door-to-door survey, which was being kicked off from March 15, however, she added, the real poor would be determined by BISP headquarters with help of modern technology.

She said the survey would divert funds to the real needy and poor, irrespective of their political, religious or any other affiliations.

She directed that each union council of the district should have representation on the pool of remunerators to successfully perform the task in amicable manner.

She assured her full support to BISP management in its operations and initiatives on behalf of the government, adding that NSER was being shared with all the public and private sector organizations for the poverty reduction and development programs.

Currently at number five in the world, she said, BISP, under the PML (N) Government, commits to become number one in the field of targeting.

She said blue tooth based synchronization of the enumerators and supervisors, was a quality control feature that would ensure error free registration, adding computer based enlisting GPRS system would be utilized to ensure complete coverage of the population.

She said that BISP was an apolitical organization and the government would not tolerate any political interference to deprive the poor women of their access to the programme which served as social safety net for the poor female population of the country.

She also listened to problems of the beneficiaries, saying a reliable payment mechanism for BISP beneficiaries was being introduced which would save them from fraudulent elements and would provide an easy access to their payments.

She said the present government was committed to serving people equally beyond their political affiliations and without any political considerations and added BISP aims to conduct the most accurate and dynamic re survey, utilizing the advanced mechanisms and procedures.

She said the PML(n) government would continue to extend relief to the people who had reposed trust in it, adding in this regard all development initiatives were successfully in progress and would complete timely.

The district administration including deputy commissioner, deputy police officer and elected representatives of the local government were present on the occasion and expressed their full support to make the activity a complete success.
