The Belgium men’s hockey team the Red Lions have made it to the final of the World Hockey League. A 1-0 win against the host nation India was enough to see our boys through to Sunday’s final.
The Red Lion’s didn’t let themselves be put off by an enthusiastic home crowd. Charlier scored what turned out to be the only goal of the game after just 5 minutes of play.
The Red Lions were the better team during the first half. However, India turned up the heat in the second half and it was a case of all hands on deck during an exciting closing stage.
The Red Lion’s held on and the match ended 1-0 in Belgium’s favour. Belgium will now take on Australia that beat the Netherlands in the other semi-final. Belgium already played Australia in the first round of the tournament. Then the match ended 1-0 to the Aussies.
