ISLAMABAD: President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko scheduled visit to Pakistan has been canceled due to death of his mother for two days, foreign office said.
The Belarus President had to arrive in Islamabad today on a two-day state visit to Pakistan at the invitation of President Mamnoon Hussain.
The Pakistani foreign office in its statement said that, now, he will arrive Pakistan for a two days visit on May 28, 29.
It will be the first ever visit by a Belarusian President to Pakistan.The President of Belarus is leading a high powered delegation.
The Belarusian President had to official talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while the PM and President had to host a lunch and dinner in honour of the visiting dignitary.
A number of important agreements and Memoranda of Understanding with focus on agriculture machinery, tractor plant, milk and dairy industry have to be signed during the visit.
Pakistan and Belarus enjoy cordial relations. Belarus established its resident Mission in Islamabad in November last year.
President Lukashenko’s visit will help in strengthening the existing ties between the two countries.
