Bear’s efforts to raid a house went in vain as he stuck himself when tried to pass though cat burglar in a house in Idaho.
After prowling the garden he poked his head through the cat flap, allowing the home owner to take a photograph, before realising it offered no way to enter.
Doug Harder said that this is not the first time he brush with a bear. A bear and its two cubs climbed on to his first-floor deck earlier this year to eat birdseed, he added.
He further said that last week the bear family managed to get into his house, cleaning it out of food, after he left a sliding door open a few inches while he was on holiday.
