KARACHI: Audacious Bangladesh Women cricket team will reach today in Karachi, blackballing security concerns, to play T20 and one-day international (ODI) cricket match series.
Bangladesh Women will contend Pakistan Women in two T20s on Sept 30 and Oct 2, before playing two ODI matches on Oct 4 and 6. The team will return home on Oct 7.
‘We were not underpowered to play in Pakistan,” Bangladesh Women’s team captain Salma Khatun. “We are going according to our wishes. We will be given the highest level of security. We are going there to play cricket, so we are not concerned about what is happening anywhere else in the country.”
She said there was no fear among us. We knew that there won’t be any trouble in the area where we would be playing.
The team will leave Dhaka for Karachi at 1.35pm on Monday afternoon and will stay at the Southend Cricket Club in Karachi.
