Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane claimed that forward Gareth Bale did not travel with the team for a pre-season trip to Munich due to illness.
Zidane insisted that Bale was left in Spain on medical advice, not because of their much-publicised falling out.
According to the SunSport, Bale did not go to Germany as he was still upset the La Liga giants pulled the plug on his £1million-a-week move to China.
Madrid were beaten 1-0 by Bale’s old club Tottenham in the Audi Cup last night to crank up the pressure on the under-fire Frenchman.
He said afterwards: “Bale didn’t travel with us because he didn’t feel that well.
“The doctors said he was unwell and the best thing for him was to stay in Madrid. He’s training individually in Madrid.
“That was a decision that we made — the club, the doctors, myself and Bale, too.”
