KARACHI: A local court Saturday adjourned the hearing of Baldia factory fire case till July 4.
The court hearing the all important case also issued notices to the investigation officer.
During the hearing today, a senior police officer recorded his statement before the court and said that police is reinvestigating the case in the light of JIT (Joint Investigation Team) report of Rizwan Qureshi, the prime accused in this case.
The court ordered the police to brief court in the next hearing about the latest developments in investigation following the JIT report.
Decision on exempting factory owners from appearing before the court will also be taken after hearing the prosecution.
The Baldia Town blaze was one of Pakistan’s worst fires which killed more than 250 people at a garment factory known as ‘Ali Enterprises’ in Karachi.
Hundreds were trapped inside – the building had metal grilles on the windows and no fire exits.
