ISLAMABAD: Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan is spending less on defense despite security threats in the region.

Addressing the Security Dialogue in Islamabad on Thursday, the Army Chief said that the National Security Dialogue is an important need of the hour. Today, the world is facing various forms of terrorism and in the current situation, Pakistan is facing many challenges. To deal with these challenges, a comprehensive strategy is needed, he added.

General Bajwa said that Pakistan is spending less on defense despite security threats in the region. Increasing expenditure on security results in sacrificing the human development. Pakistan is not in the arms race in the region despite its aggressive neighbour, the COAS added.

Pakistani forces had played a pivotal role in the war against terrorism, he said and added that our anti-terrorism war is a refection of our committment.
