LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has cast his vote from the constituency of NA-122 on Sunday morning.
He cast his vote in Sardar High School Garhi Shahu. He waited in the queue cast vote upon his turn.
He said he was satisfied with the arrangements of the polls.
Enthusiasm of the activists of main opposition parties has gripped Lahore for national assembly seat NA-122 and provincial assembly seat PP-147. The polling process for the by-polls was started at 8:00am and would last until 5:00pm without any break.
A total of 17 candidates are taking part in NA-122 Lahore. Prominent among them are Sardar Ayaz Sadiq of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Abdul Aleem Khan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Barrister Mian Aamir Hassan of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
In NA-144 Okara, five candidates are contesting. They include Ali Arif Chaudhry of PML(N) and Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna of PTI.
In PP-147 Lahore, the main candidates are Mohsin Latif of PML(N), Muhammad Shoaib Siddique of PTI and Iftikhar Shahid Advocate of PPP.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has acquired at least 500 vehicles to shift staffers and polling material for NA-122 by-election.
