BRISBANE: Australia have declared its first innings on 556 on loss of four wickets against New Zealand in 1st Test being played at Brisbane Cricket Ground.
Australia after winning the toss elected to bat first which turned out to be the great decision for the side as the host put 556 on the board on day 2 of the game.
Usman Khawaja who is making his comeback in the side made outstanding 174 with David Warner playing a knock of 163.
Adam Voges scored unbeaten 83 while Joe Burns contributed with 71 to guide the team total to 556.
Skipper Steven Smith was unlucky falling just two short from another half century. He made 48.
Kane Williamson, Tim Southee, Trent Boult and James Neesham picked up a wicket each for the visitors.
