ISTANBUL: A woman wearing miniskirt during Ramazan was attacked by a man on a bus in Istanbul.
21-year-old university student Melisa Saglam was attacked by a man identified only as Ercan K on a minibus in Istanbul’s Pendik district.

The suspect allegedly asked her, “Are you not ashamed to dress this way during Ramazan?” before punching her.
Following the incident, Saglam filed a complaint against the assailant, upon which he was detained three days.
The incident has sparked a debate in Turkish society with some demand special rules and regulations during the month of Ramazan to maintain sanctity of the month. However, some people oppose any special rules for the month.
