KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has remanded Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) Deputy Managing Director Shoaib Warsi and two other officials to the Rangers custody for 90 days.
The Rangers produced the SSGC DMD Shoaib Warsi, and two more officials Zubair Siddiqui and Kamran Ahsan before the ATC and sought remand for interrogation.
The officials were accused of misusing their official powers.
The court accepted Rangers’ plea and granted the paramilitary force 90-day remand of the accused.
Warsi was arrested from outside his Civic Centre office and was later shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
His detention came hours after authorities arrested Dr Asim Hussain, a former petroleum minister and current head of the Higher Education Commission’s Sindh chapter.
