KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday allowed the rebellious Pakistan People Party leader Zulfiqar Mirza can go abroad.
Zulfiqar Mirza in the petition maintained that he wants to go abroad for the medical treatment of wife Fehmida Mirza and will depart on June 15 to come back in the second week of July.
The public prosecutor argued before the court that if Mirza be allowed to go to a foreign country, he will not return to face the four cases registered against him in ATC.
The court after hearing the arguments ruled that the politician can go abroad for three weeks.
A veteran politician, Mirza first turned against his party over the policy of reconciliation then against Asif Ali Zardari for not taking a hard line against opponents and what he described ‘anti-state’ elements.
