KARACHI: Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) has sent Former Petroleum Minister Dr Asim Hussain on 90 days remand in rangers custody.
Rangers presented Dr Asim Hussain before the court under tight security.
According to the sources, NAB officials arrived at the former minister’s office in Karachi’s upscale Clifton area where they were questioning him.
Asim Hussain has been accused of corruption and facilitating terrorists, sources said.
He was produced before ATC-III in Karachi. The Rangers sought 90-day preventive detention of Dr Asim Hussain under Section 11-EEEE of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
Dr. Hussain has previously served as the federal minister for petrolem during the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government.
He is currently serving as the chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Sindh.
