Islamabad: PML-N leader and member of National Assembly Khawaja Asif has said that there are corrupt people in the ranks of the government but they have full immunity.
Speaking in the National Assembly session here on Wednesday, Asif said that the Speaker was a witness that the talks were held to facilitate the big committee. We do not want to make the FATF controversial but want Pakistan to be removed from the grey list. An impression is being created that we are NAB-affected people and want to harm the national interest.
He said that history bears witness to the fact that those who made wrong laws fell victim to it themselves. We do not want these people to fall prey to such laws tomorrow.
“We are not afraid of anything, we want to amend the laws, but they closed the accountability commission in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There is no dishonesty in all of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all the angels live there,” he said.
Khawaja Asif asked whether NAB law does not apply to Malam Jabba, Billion Train Tsunami, Foreign Funding Case, BRT? NAB rules only apply to the opposition. “We don’t mind if you hold us accountable from 1999 or 1985 or 1947,” he said.
