HYDERABAD: On the directives of Commissioner Qazi Shahid Pervez, all Deputy Commissioners of Hyderabad Division have finalised necessary arrangements to accomplish the task of immunization of children during three-day long Polio Eradication Campaign being kicked off from October 24.
Talking to APP here on Saturday, Shahid said that the government has declared national emergency to cope with the polio virus and a dedicated team of professionals in the Emergency Operation Centre of the provincial health directorate was working hard to achieve the target.
The Divisional Administration is observing the anti-polio day with a pledge to root out Polio virus from every nook and corner of Hyderabad, Dadu, Jamshoro, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allah Yar and Matiari districts of the Hyderabad division.
The Commissioner asked to all concerned departments to fulfill their responsibilities with dedication and devotion as no negligence in this respected will be tolerated at any cost.
He emphasized the need of reformation of vaccination teams with inclusion of maximum numbers of female workers and active support from education and revenue departments as well as social welfare organisations.
He warned that strict departmental action would be initiated against those who failed to achieve the task of vaccination according to target, he added.
The Commissioner also called upon the media to play their vital role in motivating the parents to immunize their children against Polio and save their future.
