PESHAWAR: At least five militants were killed during an attack on a checkpost in Spin Wam area of tribal agency North Waziristan, whereas, a major-ranked officer of the Pakistan Army was also martyred in the armed clash on Monday.
The violent clash took place at Dandi Kuch checkpost in Spin Wam area Mirali tehsil near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border that lies adjacent to Afghanistan’s Khost province, local media quoted security sources.
The martyred military officer is identified as Major Ismail, whereas, security sources added that the attackers used light and heavy weapons while they managed to flee from the site taking advantage of darkness and also took away the bodies of the colleagues.
