ISLAMABAD: Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has categorically stated that Pakistan will give a befitting response to any Indian aggression.
Winding up debate on LoC situation in the National Assembly today, he said we are fully capable to defend our border. He said we will not accept any Indian influence or hegemony under any circumstances.
Sartaj Aziz said India is heating up the situation on the Line of Control to deflect attention from its atrocities in Occupied Kashmir. He said the India attack on passenger bus and ambulance was the most regrettable incident contrary to all norms and principles. He said Pakistan has written letters to the Foreign Ministers of P-5 countries to apprise them about the Indian aggression on the civilians. He said Pakistan has never targeted civilians but the Indian sides is deliberately targetting them to escalate the situation.
On the diplomatic front, the Advisor said Pakistan is forcefully raising the Kashmir dispute at all international forums. He said Pakistan will continue to support the Kashmiris right to self-determination which is totally indigenous in nature and led by the Kashmiri youth.
Sartaj Aziz, however, said that Pakistan will continue to pursue the policy of peaceful neighbourhood. We are ready for dialogue with India on the condition that Kashmir dispute is also included in it.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif in his policy statement said that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend every inch of the motherland. We are fully capable to defend our waters, land and air frontiers.
Referring to the ongoing Intifada in Occupied Kashmir, the Defence Minister said that hundreds of the people have embraced martyrdom and lost their eye sight while braving Indian atrocities. He said that India cannot afford the success of Kashmir freedom movement as it will be the end of India. He said several separatist movements are continuing in India. If the Kashmir movement reaches its logical conclusion the other movements there will also achieve success. This will be the undoing of Indian state.
Khawaja Asif said that India is supporting terrorism in Pakistan for the last many years but our armed forces over the last two years have broken the back of their terrorists. He said we have unambigous evidence about Indian interference in our territory and dossiers in this regard have been presented before the world community.
About CPEC, the Defence Minister said this mega project will be implemented at all costs which will enhance the country’s stature not only in the region but the whole world. This game changer project, he said, will free Pakistan, of economic enslavement. He said many other countries of the region including Iran have also expressed interest to join this project.
