Apple has fixed ‘Error 53’ and expressed apologies to its customers for bricking iPhones’ version 6 and 6 Plus, Mashable reported.

The report said that the basic problem occurs when the iPhones’ home button repaired other than unauthorised repair centers.

According to Apple, “Error 53” was a actually security measure, however, it angered many customers questioning the company for disabling entire phone instead of bricking just Touch ID features while the move led filing a lawsuit over the feature.

Apple released an updated version of iOS 9.2.1 on Thursday for iTunes that will fix phones besides disabling bricking phones if repaired in unofficial Apple repair centres.

The company has also released a software update that allows customers to successfully restore their device using iTunes on a Mac or PC while a support document for ‘Error 53’ was also updated.
