In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has condemned the continued house arrest of its Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani saying that the detention is taking heavy toll on his health and has warned that India and its stooges will be responsible if anything untoward happens to him.
This was said during the APHC’s executive body meeting, which was held at its headquarters in Hyderpora, Srinagar with its General Secretary, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi in the chair. Several important issues related to ongoing struggle for right to self-determination were discussed.
The meeting was attended by the heads or the representatives of its constituent parties including Syed Bashir Andrabi, Muhammad Yusuf Naqash, Yasmeen Raja, Hakeem Abdur Rashid, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Imtiaz Ahmed Shah, Syed Muhammad Shafi, Muhammad Shafi Lone, Nisar Hussain Rather, Muhammad Yasin Ataie, Khawaja Firdous, Peer Abdul Rasheed and Agha Syed Muhammad Yasoof.
The executive meeting unanimously urged the UN and international human rights organizations to play an effective role in resolving the Kashmir dispute.
The APHC reiterated that the people in occupied territory were committed to the freedom cause and they would take the ongoing freedom movement to its logical end, against all odds.
Meanwhile, people including Hurriyat leaders and activists continued to visit the residence of martyred student, Faizan Ahmed Poswal, at Ladhoo in Pampore on the fourth day of his martyrdom. People thronged his native village to offer prayers for the departed soul and express solidarity with the bereaved family.
