PARIS: Attacks on French Muslims had increased 54 per cent during 2019, reveals the top official of the National Observatory of Islamophobia (NOI).
NOI President Abdallah Zekri said, in a written statement, that a total of 100 attacks were reported on Muslims in 2018, however, the attacks rose 154 in 2019 in France.
Zeki added that most of the anti-Muslim attacks were taken place in Paca, Rhones-Alpes and Ile-de-France areas.
About 5 million Muslims live in France, the largest across the Europe.
