Anti-Dengue day observed

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Dengue Day was observed in district Rawalpindi like other districts of the province on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

All government, semi-government departments, institutions and organizations premises were cleaned besides holding special walks to create awareness among the masses against Dengue and to adopt precautionary measures for protection from the disease.

The walk was held from Govt Girls High School, Muslim Town under the auspices of Social Welfare Department, MPA Raja Muhammad Hanif led the walk which was participated by officials of government departments.

The participants were carrying banners and posters bearing precautionary measures against Dengue and urged citizens to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings.

Raja Hanif addressing the participants said that Chief Minister has taken steps by mobilizing government departments, agencies and was utilizing all available resources for saving precious lives from Dengue and a campaign has been started in the province to eliminate mosquito and  Dengue larva in all rural and urban areas of the province.

Speaking on the occasion,Director Social Welfare, Aslam Maitla said it was the responsibility of every citizen to play his role for controlling dengue and protecting residents from this disease by adopting all precautionary measures by ensuring that stagnant water is not around.

Meanwhile, a seminar was held on dengue at Govt Degree College,  Rehmat Abad to create awareness among the students to fight against dengue.

Provincial Parliamentary Secretary, Chaudary Sarfraz Afzal   addressing the participants of the seminar said that everybody should participate in the war against Dengue and this is the only way to control it.
