ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) seized mega quantity of drugs weighing 3.252 Tons worth Rs 2.05 billion in international market in 31 operations.
The operations were conducted at Panjgur, Peshawar, Kohat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Sheikhupura, Karachi, Gilgit and Hyderabad.
The seized drugs comprised of 3.229 ton Hashish, 9.32 kg Heroin, 12.4 kg Opium and 1.66 kg Amphetamine. The operations also resulted in arrest of 37 persons and interception of 10 vehicles being used in drug smuggling.
The ANF Quetta intercepted an Oil Tanker No TTC-396-Lasbella from Sorab Area on Pasni-Gwadar Road and recovered 2.980 Kg Hashish concealed in the improvised tank and additionally welded parts of the tanker.
The drug was being transported from to Pasni via Gwadar and Panjgur for final dispatch to foreign destination. Driver of the tanker namely Abdul Wahid resident of Pasni and his accomplice Qadeer Ahmed resident of Distt Kech have also been arrested at the spot during the operation.
The ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused resident of Charsadda at Benazir International Airport, Islamabad, travelling to Damam through Ettihad Airlines Flight No. EY-234 and recovered 460 Gram Amphetamine concealed in trolley bag of the passenger.
In 2nd operation, ANF Rawalpindi recovered 650 Gram Hashish from personal possession of the accused at Ghizar Road, Gilgit. In 3rd operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused resident of Mohmand Agency at Benazir International Airport, Islamabad travelling to Italy through Istanbul on suspicious of having heroin filled capsules in his abdomen.
In 4th operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused resident of Peshawar at Benazir International Airport, Islamabad travelling to South Africa via Dubai through Emirates Airline Flight No. EK-605. 63x Heroin filled capsules have been delivered by him. In 5th operation, ANF Rawalpindi recovered a white color Suzuki Khyber at Chungi 26 and recovered 11 Packets of Hashish concealed inside the vehicle. Driver of the vehicle Izhar Ahmed Resident of Khyber Agency have been arrested at the spot.
In 6th operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Suzuki Mehran Car No. MNZ-677 at Chungi 26 and recovered 4 Kg Hashish concealed in the vehicle. Driver of the vehicle namely Aslam Sher Khan resident of Peshawar have also been arrested.
In 7th operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Suzuki Mehran Car No. STJ-6445 at Chungi 26 and recovered 1 kg heroin concealed in the vehicle. Driver of the vehicle namely Gul Rauf resident of Peshawar have been arrested.
In 8th Operation, ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team arrested an accused on suspicious of ingested Heroin filled capsules. During preliminary investigation, the accused confessed of having Heroin filled capsules in his stomach. The accused intended to fly for Riyadh by Saudi Airlines Flight No. SV 727.
In 9th Operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Suzuki Khyber Car No. E-5700 at Chungi 26 and recovered 20 Kg Hashish concealed inside the vehicle. Driver of the vehicle namely Ahmed Ali resident of Charasadda have been arrested at the spot.
In 10th operation, ANF Rawalpindi while checking a passenger vehicle at Chungi 26 arrested an accused namely Wakeel Khan resident of Peshawar and recovered 500 Gram Hashish from his personal possession.
In 11th operation, ANF Rawalpindi while checking a vehicle at Faiz-ul-Islam School, Faizabad arrested a drug dealer and recovered 1.250 Kg Hashish. In 12th operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Suzuki Mehran at Burhan Motorway toll plaza and recovered 5 Kg hashish concealed in the vehicle. Driver of the vehicle namely Farman Ullah resident of Khyber Agency have been arrested.
ANF Lahore arrested accused namely Muhammad Saqlain resident of Multan at Multan Airport, proceeding to Riadh via Dubai by Emirates Airline Flight No. EK-631 and recovered 1.2 Kg Amphetamine concealed in his trolley bag.
In 2nd operation, ANF Lahore recovered 1 kg Hashish from personal possession of accused namely Shahbaz Hussain resident of Multan at Qureshi Chowk, Multan.
In 3rd operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a Toyota Vitz Car No. LJ-413 at Faizpur Motorway Interchange, Lahore and recovered 3.6 Kg Hashish from accused namely Zahoor resident of Peshawar.
In 4th operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car No. LXD-604 at Main Gate, Allied Hospital, Faisalabad and recovered 9.6 Kg Hashish from 3x accused namely Abdul Basit resident of Charsadda, Feroz Khan resident of Khyber Agency and Shoukat Ali resident of Faisalabad.
In 5th operation, ANF Lahore arrested accused namely Iftikhar Qayyum resident of Faisalabad at Allama Iqbal International Airport proceeding to Denmark through PIA Flight No- PK-751 and recovered 405 Gram Heroin concealed in his under garments.
In 6th operation, ANF Lahore conducted a raid at Total Petrol Pump, near Nain Sukh Bus Stop, Shekhupura and arrested accused namely Bahadur Ali resident of Lahore and Nayyar Nawaz resident of UK. 6 Kg Heroin was recovered from the accused persons.
In 7th operation, ANF Lahore raided at courier company Mex Worldwide at Lahore and intercepted a parcel booked for UK. 180 gram heroin has been recovered which was tactfully concealed in body garment. In 8th Operation, ANF Lahore arrested 2 accused namely Zafar Khan resident of Peshawar from central Lahore City and Shahbaz Ahmed resident of Lahore and recovered 10 Kg Heroin from their personal possession.
ANF Peshawar conducted an operation near Karkhano Market Phatak, Peshawar and arrested Muhammad Qasim resident of Chiniot and Tanveer Ahmed resident of Sargodha. On interrogation, accused persons confessed of having narco filed capsules in their abdomen.
In 2nd operation, ANF Peshawar intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car No. LRL-8402 near Rashakai Interchange, Nowshera and recovered 3.6 Kg Hashish from accused namely Altaf Khan resident of Khyber Agency.
In 3rd Operation, ANF Peshawar recovered 1.15 Kg Hashish from personal possession of accused Muhammad Zada resident of Sawabi, travelling in a Toyota Haice at Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar.
In 4th operation, ANF Peshawar intercepted a Toyota XLI Car No. AHW-029 near Rehman CNG, Hungu Road, Kohat and recovered 2.4 Kg Opium & 12 Kg Hashish. Accused namely Muala Jan, Aziz-Ur-Rehman & Nasir Ullah all resident of Kurram Agency have been arrested at the spot.
In 5th operation, ANF Peshawar apprehended a suspected passenger namely Muhammad Israr resident of Rawalpindi who was travelling in a Toyota Hiace near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar. Search of the accused resulted in recovery of 600 Gram Heroin and 600 Gram Hashish.
In 6th operation, ANF Peshawar intercepted Suzuki Mehran Car No. MNP-431 at Rashakai Motorway Interchange, Nowshera and recovered 7.2 Kg Hashish from accused Jehanzeb Khan resident of Hangu.
ANF Karachi conducted a raid at a drug den situated at Gul Goth, Karachi and recovered 1.15 Kg Hashish from personal possession of accused Bahadur Khan resident of Karachi.
In 2nd operation, ANF Karachi recovered 2.1 Kg Hashish from personal possession of an accused Arshad Khan resident of Peshawar arrested near Total Petrol, Super Highway, Karachi.
In 3rd operation, ANF Karachi recovered 700 Gram Hashish from personal possession of accused Mubarak resident of Mirpur Khas at Main Auto Bhan Road, Hyderabad. In 4th operation, ANF Karachi intercepted a Suzuki Cultus Car No. AFN-437 at Yousaf Goth, near Quetta Bus Terminal, Karachi and recovered 175 Kg Hashish from the vehicle.
All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigation is underway.
