MIRPUR: Dr Michael Gottlob of Amnesty International Friday said massive human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) should come to an end.
Talking to President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan in Berlin late Thursday, Dr Gottlob said IoK was being treated like a colony, a press message released here said.
Dr Gottlob said India should realize that a military solution of the Kashmir dispute was not possible.
He said Jammu and Kashmir is divided; and “if Germany can be united, why not Jammu and Kashmir.”
Dr Gottlob said space for human rights and human rights defenders was shrinking in India as Indian authorities, among others, were denying visa to block fact finding in occupied Kashmir.
He said the United Nations Human Rights Council was the best forum for getting more attention of the situation in Kashmir.
