Amir is future of Pakistani cricket: Wasim Akram

ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan Cricket team captain and fast bowler Wasim Akram praised Muhammad Amir, calling him the ‘future’ of Pakistani cricket.

Talking to a private news channel, Wasim said that Amir was a brilliant bowler and that he was the future of cricket in the country.

Wasim also disclosed the advice that he gave to Amir.  “I told Amir to focus on only one thing; cricket. Leave everything else,” he said.

Wasim also said that one always encountered challenges in life. However, he also said that one should know how to tackle and handle  those challenges.

To a question, Wasim also said that he was bad at studies during his school days and his only focus was at sports.

Pakistani fast bowler Muhammad Amir made his comeback to the national side last year after a five-year ban. Amir made it back to the national squad and performed well in this year’s ICC World T20 Championship.

For the upcoming England tour, Amir was picked by Pakistan to play for the country however, the cricketer is still awaiting his visa.
