KARACHI: The Traffic Police Karachi following the arrival of Co-Chairperson of PPP Asif Ali Zardari, has advised the citizens to adopt alternative routes for reaching airport besides using Shahra Faisal, which is likely to be blocked due to rallies.
The people of Defence and Clifton, traveling to the airport, will have to use the alternative route that passes through Hino Chorangi, Korangi Industrial Area Road, Murtaza Chowrangi, Malir Halt, Model Colony and then airport.
The traffic from Liaquatabad and Gulshan Iqbal areas heading towards airport have been advised to use the route that passes through University Road, Safoora and Malir Cantonment.
Alternative routes for the visitors of hospitals have also been announced. The traffic heading to Ziauddin Hospital have been advised to use Sea View Road and China Chowrangi while Bahria underpass is advised for people planning to visit South City Hospital.
Residents of DHA and Clifton, travelling to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, will have to use Chaudhary Khaleequz Zaman Road.
The visitors of Liaquat National Hospital and Aga Khan University Hospital will have to use University Road and then Stadium Road.
The heavy traffic will not be allowed to use Jinnah Bridge to Sunset Boulevard, Punjab Colony, Korangi Road and will have to use Maripur Road to Northern Bypass. Similarly, the heavy vehicles from National Highway will not be allowed to move towards Korangi Industrial Area Road.
The citizens have also been advised to avoid parking of their vehicles on roads and in case of traffic jam or other traffic related issues, citizens can communicate on Traffic Police helpline number 1915, whatsapp number 0305-9266907 and tune into Sindh Police Radio Channel FM-88.6 or facebook page www.facebook.com/karachitrafficpolice for updates regarding the traffic.
