KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court on Saturday declared Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief an absconder in a terrorism related case.

As per initial details, Altaf Hussain was declared the only absconder in the terrorism case registered against him by Colonel Tahir in Civil Lines police station.

The application for the registration of case accused Altaf Hussain of threatening Rangers personnel during a Television interview.

In its challan, police pleaded that the accused be declared an absconder under Section 87/88 of CrPC.

The court approved the police request, declaring the MQM chief Altaf Hussain an absconder in the case.
