KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said on Saturday that the arrest of workers collecting funds for a welfare organization is sheer ‘injustice’.

Hussain in a statement maintained that arresting and registering cases against people collecting charity funds for a welfare organization is pure injustice.

The MQM chief maintained that it is illegal activities of Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF).

It must be remembered that Rangers on Thursday arrested 16 MQM workers who were allegedly extorting money from people in the name of Zakat and Fitra collection.

At least 1,000 receipts for donations and Rs 31,500 were recovered from the men,” a Rangers Press release said.

Nine of the detained workers were presented in court on Friday which remanded them in Rangers custody for 90 days.
