ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed credits Imran Khan’s former government for getting out of FATF’s gray list.
Sheikh Rasheed said that he hopes that Pakistan will be removed from the gray list before October. In a statement, he said that all the credit for getting out of the FATF gray list goes to Imran Khan’s government. Goes to Pakistan Army and its affiliates.
The former minister said that the present assemblies have no significance and are not accepted. Most people are on bail. There are fifty ministers but no one goes to the assembly. He said that the present government was dying for trade with India.
Earlier today, Hammad Azhar said that India’s role, whenever the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) reviewed Pakistan’s progress in combating terrorism and curbing money laundering, has historically been negative and this is something the previous PTI government highlighted.
“It was clear that India was trying to use this platform for political purposes,” said Azhar, addressing a press conference in Lahore shortly after Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar held a media briefing to discuss the FATF’s latest verdict.
