Alkhidmat sets up heatwave relief camps across Karachi

KARACHI: Alkhidmat Karachi’s disaster management cell setup relief camps across the city in connection with the ongoing heat wave in Karachi.

The camps were setup in 10 areas of the city, including New Karachi, North Karachi, Korangi, North Nazimabad, Lyari, Chakiwara, Kalakot and Lasbela.

Furthermore, a relief camp was also established in collaboration with the Pakistan Disaster Management Authority at Clifton area. Water, soft drinks etc were made available at the camps. In addition, Alkhidmat volunteers also remained available at the camps for any kind of guidance.

Alkhidmat Executive Director Rashid Qureshi in a statement said that the camps were set up keeping in view the disaster brought by heat waves in the past. He urged the citizens to take all possible precautionary measures before setting out from their homes during the ongoing heat wave period.

He said that Alkhidmat will not let people of Karachi alone in any difficult situation.

It is pertinent to mention here that Alkhidmat’s disaster management cell decided to setup the camps after detailed deliberation in a meeting headed by its manager Sarfaraz Shaikh.
