Alkhidmat inaugurates Skill Development Center for helping unemployed

KARACHI: Alkhidmat Karachi has started a new Skill Development Center in Zameeruddeen Memorial Complex, PIB to impart vocational and technical skills to jobless youth.

Courses for General Electrician, Advanced Tailoring, AC and Plant Technician, Generator Mechanic, Carpenter and Plumber will be taught here free of cost.

The center was inaugurated by CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig and Executive Director Naurus Private Limited Tajammul Hussain.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Alkhidmat Executive Director Rashid Qureishi, Director Mawakhat Program Yusuf Muhyiuddeen, Director Orphan Care Program Farooq Kamlani, Director HR and Compliance MuneerYaqoob and other officials of Alkhidmat Karachi as well as a number of young students.Speaking on the occasion, Naveed Ali Baig pointed out that along with garbage accumulation, water scarcity and broken roads, rising unemployment was among the major problems of the city that was going unattended.

He reminded the audience that it was Ameer Alkhidmat Karachi Hafiz NaeemurRehman’s vision to impart technical skills to Karachi’s youth. To achieve this vision, Alkhidmat Karachi had taken this initiative of establishing a Skill Development Center where classes for Electrician and Advanced Tailoring have already commenced, whereas registration for other courses is being done.

Thanking Naurus Private Limited for donating the premises for this center, Naveed Ali said that Alkhidmat planned to expand this initiative across Karachi. Young people will benefit from these courses and be able to provide for their families as well as society. He informed the youth assemble there of Alkhidmat’s services in seven welfare categories and invited them to volunteer for them. Relating a hadeeth, Rashid Qureishi said that in service lay greatness. Whoever possessed even a small skill could lead a self-sufficient life, and learning a new skill could help a person progress in life. Yusuf Muhyiuddeen said that this offer of free technical training through six-month courseswas a great opportunity for youth which they should avail.

Expressing his full confidence and satisfaction with Alhidmat’s services, Tajammul Hussain promised to donate similar premises to Alkhidmat and reiterated his desire to keep cooperating with Alkhidmat in the future too.
