KARACHI: Alkhidmat Karachi has helped fit a new artificial leg to a suffering prisoner in Central Jail on the request of jail authorities.
Alkhidmat’s team of doctors reached Central Jail and started the operation of fitting the leg.
The team included Senior Manager Allied Services Manzar Alam, Prosthetist and Orthotist Dr. Muhammad Waseem Khan, Dr. Faseehullah Khan and RajwanEdhi. The actual procedure of fitting the leg was done with the help of the Sindh Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation on the behalf of Alkhidmat Karachi.

On the successful completion of the procedure, the jail authorities and the beneficiary were full of appreciation and gratitude for Alkhidmat and the team of doctors. Speaking on the occasion, Alkhidmat’s Executive Director Rashid Qureishi said that Alkhidmat was working for the welfare of prisoners in a number of areas, such as healthcare, provision of clean water, running a computer and English language center in jail, as well as their early release.
He mentioned that Alkhidmat took immediate steps for fitting the new artificial legon receiving the request from the jail authorities. Lastly, he assured that Alkhidmat would continue to work for the welfare of prisoners in the future too.
